The conference will take place at the University of
Manchester on Sunday 4 - Friday 9 September.
The field of aerosol science has grown rapidly in
recent years and the conference will provide an essential forum for
its latest developments.
The conference series is held by the European
Aerosol Assembly (EAA), a body that represents 12 national/regional
societies. The Aerosol Society of the UK and Ireland are the
organisers in 2011.
The programme will cover a wide range of topics,
including Aerosol-based Nanotechnology, Aerosol Chemistry, Aerosol
Modelling, Atmospheric Aerosol and Particle-Lung
Interactions.
Paul Simpson, managing director of Visit
Manchester, said: "Manchester is internationally recognised as a
groundbreaking city when it comes to science, and the recent Nobel
Prize winners who discovered Graphene are testament to this.
"The city boasts a world-class science and
technology community represented by its universities and within
specific hubs such as Manchester Science Parks. Manchester is a
natural host for a science-led event such as the European Aerosol
Conference and we look forward to welcoming the European Aerosol
Assembly in September."
Ian Ford, the co-chair of the European Aerosol
Conference, said: "Aerosol science is relevant to atmospheric
change and technological development, issues ranging from
nanoscience to planet science. The 2011 European Aerosol Conference
promises to be the largest in the series so far, with over 800
delegates, and we expect to hear many stimulating
contributions."Aerosol science specialists will travel to
